Commonwealth Court
Commonwealth Court is a 66-unit new construction affordable housing development located in Mayfield, KY. Developed through a joint partnership between SOCAYR, Inc. and Bywater Development Group, the project plays a vital role in the ongoing recovery efforts following the devastating tornadoes that struck Western Kentucky in December 2021. Funded through Kentucky Housing Corporation’s 2024 Disaster Response Notice of Funding Availability, the community leverages tax-exempt bonds, 4% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and multiple layers of public and private investment to help rebuild resilient, service-rich neighborhoods.
The community features a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments across three residential buildings, complemented by a centrally located clubhouse. Each apartment is thoughtfully designed with family living in mind, featuring in-unit washers and dryers, electric appliances, keyless entry systems, and modern finishes throughout. Residents on the ground floor will enjoy private patios, while upper-level units include convenient layouts with ample natural light.
Community amenities include a clubhouse with a community room and leasing office, parcel locker kiosk, dog park, playground, and electric vehicle charging stations.
Commonwealth Court reflects SOCAYR’s commitment to revitalizing communities with high-quality, affordable housing. With on-site management by Beacon, LLC and the support of project-based vouchers from the Housing Authority of Mayfield, the community is positioned to provide long-term housing stability and opportunity to families across Mayfield.
