We are in a prime location and promote active senior living. We provide affordable rates with convenient access to UofL Baseball Stadium, Churchill Downs, shopping, and dining. Old School offers a mix of studio and one-bedroom apartments for independent seniors aged 55 years old and up. There are 18 studio apartments that are 300 sq. ft. Rent is $710/month. There are also 22 one-bedroom apartments that are 400 sq. ft. Rent is $761/month. Old School Apartments was once John H. Heywood Elementary School. Built in 1903, Old School is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • No pets allowed. Service, Assistive and Therapy animals are accepted at Old School Apartments under the guideline, Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Service /Assistance Animal will require following the steps of Reasonable Accommodations Request and adequate documentation.
  • PETSCREENING IS A PART OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR ALL APPLICANTS.
  • A welcoming environment is paramount to all of our residents. To help ensure ALL of our residents understand our No Pet or Animal, and Assistance Animal-related policies, we use a third-party screening service and require everyone to complete a "no pet" profile, or request accommodation for an assistance animal. This process ensures we have formalized, No Pet or Animal, and Assistance Animal policy acknowledgments and more accurate records to create greater mutual accountability. The No Pet/Animal and Assistance Animal profiles are free. If you are unable to complete a profile online and need help, please contact your housing provider.
