Ferrill Square Apartments (Originally Douglas School) is a senior property for individuals aged 55 and over. Douglass School was one of first projects to be financed through Lexington's Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Douglass School, owned by First African Baptist Church sat vacant from 1972 to 1999. It was then renovated to become Kanisa Apartments. In 2012 the apartments were renamed Ferrill Square after London Ferrill, a former preacher at First African Baptist Church. It contains 59 One-Bedroom units inside of one main building. The unique layout of our building creates apartment sizes that range from 550 - 600 square feet.
